Mobilis Networks Limited, an internationally focused software solutions company specialising in telecommunications platforms for Mobile Operators and Next Generation Networks (NGN), is pleased to announce in response to customer demand, the release of MobilisMoney EL, a streamlined entry-level version the Mobilis Mobile Money Transaction Platform.

MobilisMoney EL utilises USSD and SMS to allow an Operator’s subscribers to send money via mobile to any other mobile instantly, securely and without the need for a bank account. With MobilisMoney EL subscribers can transfer money to other subscribers, deposit and withdrawal money from authorised agents, pay for goods and services and top-up their airtime via their mobile money accounts. MobilisMoney EL is especially packaged for rapid core service deployment at significantly reduced costs.

In emerging markets mobile telecommunications are transforming the way in which business and financial transactions are managed. New business models are quickly being established based on micro financing and micro business. Referring to these new business models, Mobilis CEO, Chris Jones says, “With a billion mobile phone users not having bank accounts there is a significant mismatch between mobile subscriber numbers and bank account holders. This represents a massive opportunity for Mobile Operators to offer new financial services to lift revenue, increase subscriber numbers and reduce churn.”

With MobilisMoney EL Operators can provide banking services that are otherwise out of reach to the ‘unbanked’ population. MobilisMoney EL presents a distinct competitive advantage over operators not offering mobile financial transaction services; this leads to strong customer acquisition and establishes new levels of stickiness between the operator and subscriber. Additionally MobilisMoney EL creates a significant new revenue stream, via transaction fees, SMS tariffs and the interest generated on the underlying float of money deposited by subscribers.

Jones adds, “We have been building real-time billing platforms for telecommunication Operators for 15 years. We understand mobile transactions better than any general VAS vendor on the market. Our mobile money solution is a natural extension of our real-time converged rating, charging and transaction platform. We are particularly excited by MobilisMoney EL and its ability to be rapidly deployed at low cost for Operators in emerging markets.”

About Mobilis Networks Limited

Mobilis Networks Limited is an international software company that develops a converged suite of IMS-compliant telecommunications solutions including Realtime Pre- and Post-paid Billing, Rating and Charging, HSS, Mobile Money, Media Caching, International Gateways, Value Added Services, OSS and Infrastructure software for Mobile Operators, ISPs and NGNs enabling PSTN, GSM, 3G, 4G WiMAX/LTE Voice, Data, Messaging, VoD and IPTV on a single platform.

Mobilis’ strength is its ability to offer carriers and service providers a range of competitively priced telecommunications products and services and the software to enable them to target these new areas of the market. These solutions enable carriers and service providers to roll out unique bundled or individual products and services which enable a higher ARPU while maintaining customer loyalty and growth.

Mobilis Networks Limited, an internationally focused software solutions company specialising in telecommunications platforms for Mobile Operators and Next Generation Networks (NGN), is pleased to announce its revenue generating efforts for a mobile network operator in central Africa, through the rapid release of a “Love Meter” SMS application in time for Valentines Day.

The hosted Love Meter application, required by the Operator on a tight timeframe to celebrate Valentines Day, was deployed and delivering results inside one (1) day. Through marketing only via SMS broadcasts messages, the Operator saw what equated to a 25% subscriber uptake in the service in the space of one week, generating significant new revenue at very low cost.

In emerging markets such as Africa, where prepaid subscriber churn is the highest in the world, the ability to rapidly deploy new services is critical to maintaining ARPU and subscriber engagement. The hosted Mobilis Love Meter SMS application, remotely deployable across country borders, is a great example of what low cost revenue generating activities can be achieved in a very short time frame.

Mobilis Wins Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2010 Award

Mobilis Networks Limited, a New Zealand-based software solutions company specialising in telecommunications platforms for Mobile Operators and Next Generation Networks (NGN), is very proud to announce that in Hong Kong last night Deloitte presented Mobilis Chairman, Rod Olsen, with the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2010 award for the 25th Fastest Growing Technology Company in Asia Pacific.

This latest accolade arrives following Mobilis’ earlier Deloitte Technology Fast 50 New Zealand 2010 award for the Fastest Growing Technology Company in New Zealand.

With a Sales and Support Centre in Lebanon and by focusing on the emerging markets of the Middle East, Africa and Asia, Mobilis is very pleased to have their go-to-market and product development strategies acknowledged through the receipt of this Deloitte Fast 500 Award.

The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 Asia Pacific 2010 winners consist of the 500 public and private technology, media and telecommunications companies headquartered in Asia Pacific, that have achieved the highest rates of revenue growth over the past three years.

Speaking of New Zealand’s success, national leader of the Fast 50 programme, Deloitte partner Matt McKendry says “this just proves that innovative, fleet-footed Kiwi businesses can match it with the best technology entrepreneurs in the world, particularly when they perform the basics well and don’t lose sight of their strategy and vision.”

What makes the award particularly gratifying for Mobilis is the knowledge that they are among companies from the high growth markets of China, Taiwan, Australia, India, South Korea and Singapore.

Mobilis CEO, Chris Jones, having recently returned from the Middle East and Africa, said of the announcement: “I have to reiterate, we’ve got a great team. Good people building great products. Our success is predicated by the value adding applications we deliver to our customers, such as our E-Vouchers and Mobile Money platform. We have continued to innovate and deliver in difficult market conditions by responding to our customer’s needs and to market demand trends.”

“We are 100% export-based and focusing on the emerging markets of Middle East, Africa and Asia; these are the fastest growing regions in the world for next generation and mobile networks,” finished Jones.

Mobilis Networks Limited, an internationally focused software solutions company specialising in telecommunications platforms for Mobile Operators and Next Generation Networks (NGN), is pleased to announce the launch of its Virtual Local Roaming Application.

Mobilis Virtual Local Roaming allows Mobile Operators to offer in-bound roamers a virtual local number while in-country, thereby providing a cost-effective prepaid local number on their current phone.

For the Operator the benefits of providing Virtual Local Roaming include additional revenue streams with increased airtime and termination charges, reduced “clearing-house” or shared revenue with other Operators, and the ability to offer attractive rates to in-bound roamers.

For the in-bound roamer the process of receiving and using a virtual local number is remarkably simple: they enter the country network; receive a roaming welcome with instructions to send an SMS to get a local number; they oblige and send an SMS to get their local virtual prepaid number; in return they receive the local number via SMS; the in-bound roamer can now use both their home and local numbers simultaneously.

“The ability to roam has always been one of the greatest advantages of GSM,” says Chris Jones, CEO of Mobilis. “However, to escape costly roaming rates, international subscribers often turn their handsets off or don’t answer incoming calls when in-bound roaming. It’s not uncommon for in-bound roamers to purchase local prepaid SIM cards to make and receive calls using the local number; but then, this results in additional headaches – changing SIMs, missing SMSes and calls, or maintaining multiple handsets.”

“Giving Operators the ability to offer a prepaid virtual local number for international travellers solves the costly in-bound roaming dilemma, benefiting both the subscriber and local operator,” finished Jones.

Mobilis Wins Deloitte Fast 50 Award

Mobilis Networks Limited, a software solutions company specialising in telecommunications platforms for Mobile Operators and Next Generation Networks (NGN), is very proud to announce that Deloitte has presented them with the Fast 50 award for the fastest growing technology company in New Zealand.

Additionally, with a Sales and Support Centre in Lebanon and by focusing on the emerging markets of the Middle East, Africa and Asia, Mobilis has been listed by Deloitte as the 4th fastest growing company overall in New Zealand.

The 10th annual Deloitte Fast 50 index of New Zealand’s fastest growing businesses was announced on the 27th of October 2010 at simultaneous events in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. The index ranks the top 50 businesses according to their revenue growth over the past three years and sets the standard for high growth businesses in New Zealand.

National leader of the Fast 50 programme, Deloitte partner Matt McKendry says this year’s index has proved yet again that successful businesses make the Fast 50 because they do the basics extremely well.

“Consistent growth, even through recession, comes from paying attention to basic principles. Effectively you can break this down in to the three ‘Ps’ – people, process and purpose. If you handle these elements well and make sure that the business is focused on fulfilling the needs of customers, you will be well on your way to achieving high growth” continued McKendry.

Mobilis CEO, Chris Jones, having recently returned from the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) ICT Mission to China with Government ICT Minister, the Hon. Steven Joyce, agreed; “We’ve got a great team. Good people that have built really great products. We are 100% export-based with our focus on emerging markets, particularly the Middle East, Africa and Asia; for us, in next generation and mobile networks, these are the fastest growing regions in the world.”

“We have continued to innovate, expand our product range and deliver in difficult market conditions. We listen to our customer’s needs and aim to predict market demand trends,” finished Jones.
